Privacy notice
What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated October 2026.
Who looks after your data
Games Community is a small website run from the UK, and we are responsible for the data the site collects. To ask about your data, use the contact form and choose "Privacy or data request".
What we collect
- Game ideas: your nickname, your email and what you write in the form.
- Feedback: what you write, your star rating, the level you played and an optional nickname.
- Contact messages: what you write, the topic you choose, and a name and email only if you give them so we can reply.
- Visit counts, not people. We count page visits with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly counter. It records which page was visited, the website that sent you, your browser, screen size and country. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't keep your IP address and can't follow you across other websites.
- Nothing else while you play. There's no account and no advertising tracker. High scores and settings like sound on or off are saved only in your own browser.
Why we use it
- To read your idea or suggestion, and to email you about your idea. We rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving the site.
- To see which games people play, so we know what to improve and what to build next. This also relies on our legitimate interest.
- To credit your nickname on a game, if you asked us to.
Who else handles it
The site is hosted by Netlify, which receives and stores form messages for us. Visit counts are handled by GoatCounter (goatcounter.com), which doesn't use cookies or keep IP addresses. Netlify may process data outside the UK under its own safeguards. We don't sell or share your details with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep ideas and emails for up to 24 months after we last talked to you, then delete them. If we build your game, we keep your nickname on its credits.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Send us a message through the contact form and we'll reply within a month. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Anyone can play. Ideas must be sent by someone 18 or over, so under 18s should ask a parent or guardian to send theirs.
