For parents and carers
A parent's guide to Games Community
What's on the site, what we collect, and the one part that's for adults only.
What Games Community is
A free collection of simple, retro-style games that play in a web browser. There's nothing to install, and no account or email is needed to play.
Is it suitable for my child?
Almost every game is made for all ages, with cartoon-style pixel graphics. Some arcade games involve shooting cardboard targets, ducks or aliens, and the fighting game has cartoon punches and kicks. Nothing is gory.
The Card Room (blackjack and poker) is for adults. It uses pretend chips with no real money and no prizes, but it looks like casino gambling, so it's rated 18+ and asks players to confirm their age with one tap. That check can't verify age, so if your child uses the site on their own, it's worth a chat about it.
Chat, contact and personal data
There's no chat and no way for players to message each other. Playing collects no personal information: scores and settings are saved only on the device being used, and visits are counted with a cookie-free counter that stores no personal details.
The only time the site asks for an email is when someone sends a game idea, and that must be sent by an adult. Feedback boxes ask for an optional nickname only.
Sending a game idea
We love ideas from young players, but the form must be sent by someone 18 or over. If your child has an idea, you can send it for them. If we build it, we'll credit the nickname you choose.
Money and in-game purchases
There's nothing to buy in any game and no way to spend money. In future the site may show clearly marked links to other websites to help pay for it.
